SKYPING WITH RICK
Rick, Mary Lou, and Kitty Kitty arrived the first part of July to stay in their Fla. home. Rick is shown in the picture using his I-phone and Skyping at the same time. (Showoff !! ha! ha!) We have found Skyping to be a lot of fun. One only needs an inexpensive camera for a desktop, and most laptops and netbooks have them already . Skype is a free download and allows one to talk and see the person to whom one is talking. OPRAH did a big show on 
it. She uses SKYPE all the time, all around the world. Jana's mom bought a camera for her desktop computer and now they can talk almost as if they are in the same room together. We had fun as all three of us, Rick, Jana, and I (and our laptops) would SKYPE each other, and practice the application, so that we could see how the program worked. It is very simple...download Skype, it finds your camera, adjust the sound, and there you are ! Rick, Jana, and I also went to Crisper's, a soup and sandwich place where they provide a "hot spot," so that anyone with a network card can get on the internet and yes, SKYPE !
Jana had fun going to different tables at the restaurant and Skyping. She was also able to give her mom a glimpse of the weather outside by taking her laptop to our "birdcage." Our friend, Shelli , also has Skype, and when we talked to her last week, she gave us a tour with her laptop of her new home.She lives in Louisiana. So...it is good from anywhere. A FREE way to communicate and more personal than just a phone !!! If you have a laptop or a camera for your computer, you can download and use SKYPE for free. Then we can all SKYPE !!!
