The 2008 LILY

To the right is a picture of our 2008 Lily Tournament
team with pro golfer Sandra Haney. Sandra hit a drive that left us a very short pitch shot for our birdie! To the left are Kathy Whitworth and I, and it was such an honor..she has won 88 tournaments, more than any man or woman golfer ever! The tournament is in its 8th year, and it is to benefit Alzheimer's Associations in the Florida area. The tournament is a huge success, bringing golfers from 8 states, as well as fellow Villagers, and is held in honor of Villager Deb Schlofman's mom, LILY, who passed away from this disease. The PRO AM Friday was a huge success, as
LPGA'ers Kathy Whitworth (88 wins, a record), Rosie Jones, Shirley Furlong, Sandra Haney, and Anne Marie Palli were participants. All but Whitworth were out on the course with us on Sat, even though rain shortened our efforts to 13 holes, a raffle and auction.
Left to right in the pic: golf buddies Jackie Reed, Nancy Regan
LPGAer Sandra Haney, Peppermint Patti, and I. We had a great time!
Over 20,000 was raised for the cause. It is a such a smoothly run tournament,
thanks to Deb, Terri, Ken the pro, and others. We had a ball...13 under, 13 holes!
