The Fab Four !!

Our good friends from Ohio were here this week, Jan 9 and 10th. for a short visit. They arrived with a cold front, but we had a great time anyway.....we will all have to take a rest as we talked...a lot, haha!!
Left to right are Amy Brooks, Barb Nagel, Jana, and Peg. We have been friends for over 25 years, and have good stories to tell on each other when we get together. On Tuesday, their arrival date, we travelled up to Nancy Lopez CC to hit some balls at her practice facility. It is unique because you can aim at islands in the small lake with the practice balls. Next we went to Glenview CC for lunch, followed by an evening trip to Lake Sumter Landing and market day, with the dance band, Rocky and The Rollers. On Wednesday, we visited Laurel Manor rec center, Beall's Dept. store for shopping, the new Lake Miona Rec Center where this picture was taken in front of a massive stone fireplace, Spanish Springs Town Square for market night and magnetic bracelets, and then to our neighbors, Charley and Nancy, and a visit with them and their Chinese shorthair cats. Back home, Aim and I won our "usual" two out of three games of bid euchre. Thursday was departure, but not before we spent the morning in the sun, as the temperatures on our birdcage were nice and warm. We had a great time, and I hope they did too.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Have a great 2007. We started New Year's Eve at Lake Sumter Landing. It was quite a crowd, and we never did find friends we were supposed to meet. Rocky and the Rollers were under the roof of the bandstand beside the big Christmas tree on your left. It was crowded but a warm and beautiful night. This morning, I got to welcome the new year by playing in a neighborhood Bloody Mary Scramble. My Greenville friend, Bob Lantz, was also on the team, and we won first, a few bucks, and a few bragging rites! Sidney friends, Marylou and Rick Holly just spent a few days at their new home before giving the keys to renters, George and Doris Usher, our former neighbors in Cherry Hill Villas. They will be spending 3 months here, and it will be good to see them. Also, Del and Carol
Preston, Troy snowbirds, called today and have arrived for their winter stay. They were headed to Lake Sumter Playhouse to see the movie, WE ARE MARSHALL. They were both Huntington, WV residents, Marhall U grads, and knew some victims of the 1970 plane crash. I hope today and all year finds you meeting all your resolutions, as well as the PMB one...PLAY MORE GOLF !!!
