WHAT A COMPETITION !!!!
ORANGE BLOSSOM HILLS VILLAGE CUP CHAMPIONS
After 2 days of 36 holes of individual qualifying, plus 2 days of match play elimination, in which Orange Blossom defeated Glenview CC and second seeded Nancy Lopez CC,then 3 days of competition against top seeded Tierra Del Sol, the defending 2005 champions again brought home the Village Cup to Orange Blossom Hills last night. Three days of match play and a strong come from behind victory at the last hole tied the match at 12 points each, and sent the "Ryder" format match play tournament into a three hole playoff. The first group for OBH, Doris King and Carmen, defeated Priscila Salute and Carla Stevenson of Tierra Del Sol in 2 holes. However the Cup came down to the last putt (by Shirley Keeney) on the last holeto seal the deal! It was a great experience watching and playing against some of the best golfers in the area. I had a great time!
